Part 107 certification provides the Remote Pilot with the ground-level basics required to operate a small, uncrewed aircraft system (sUAS) in a safe manner. At Fidelis Aerial Imaging, the standards are considerably higher. As we perform the work of Storm Damage Assessment, our pilots maintain a heightened awareness of the risks associated with this environment. They work along side an experienced Journeyman Lineman, who will help them understand and mitigate any hazards present on a job site. The safety of our personnel is always paramount.
In order to further facilitate this mindset, Fidelis Aerial Imaging recommends that Remote Pilots complete the Trusted Operator Program (TOP) sponsored by AUVSI. This program "fills the gap between these minimally prescriptive operating regulations and a higher level of demonstrated knowledge, flight proficiency, safety and risk management practices". TOP pilots have a stronger situational awareness and are better prepared to safely and successfully complete each mission.
At Fidelis Aerial Imaging, we recognize that the utility company isn’t just delivering power to a meter – they are empowering the people who use that electricity to conduct their business and to live their lives. In the wake of a severe weather event, the power that their customers rely on is cut off, and they are anxious to have it restored. Fidelis Aerial Imaging sees the utility's customers as our customers. Our goal is to help minimize outage times and restore power to the people who depend on it.
If you are Certified Remote Pilot and you would like to learn more about working with us, please go to our Contact page and submit your information. We will reach out to answer any questions you may have.
